In her early career, Julia Michelle honed her craft on the sets of TV series, short films, and commercials, mastering the art of storytelling through garments. Her exceptional ability to bring characters to life through versatile costume design, bold color palettes, and a passion for period pieces has solidified her reputation as one of the Caribbean's leading costume designers.
Julia’s work has earned her collaborations with renowned studios like Disney and Sony Pictures, as well as A-list talent such as Lee Pace, Michael Cudlitz, Keanu Reeves, and Al Pacino. Most recently, she completed costume design for a feature film starring Oscar nominee Terrence Howard, rising star Daniel Zovatto, Lana Parrilla, and Jacob Vargas, further showcasing her ability to meet the demands of high-profile productions.
Her contributions to the Puerto Rican film industry include acclaimed projects like Dios los Cría 2, directed by Academy Award nominee Jacobo Morales, as well as Yellow and the short film SATOS, both helmed by actress and director Roselyn Sánchez. In 2022, Julia expanded her storytelling expertise to theater, designing costumes for the movie adaptation of ELSA & FRED, directed by Marcos Carnevale, the creator of the original film.
